Kevin Love playing makes this a no-play for me....Was ready to play the Warriors, but will pass now....LeBron never seems to be concerned about losing Game 1 of playoff series as he considers Game 1 a feeling-out process where King James gets to see how the defense is going to play him and then the adjustments can be made for Game 2 after some film study....The teams that win these playoff games this postseason are covering the spread at an alarmingly high rate, so since I believe Golden State wins this game, then I have to pick them, despite a spread that some will say is too high as the public is leaning towards Cleveland in this game.

No Chris Paul tonight....If the Warriors get out to a fast start and step on Houston's throats, then the Rockets will quit and rest their guys in the 4Q and save everyone for Monday's Game 7....Just do not think Golden State can lose 3 straight with all 4 of their All-Stars in the lineup....They did lose 3 straight, 2 of those at home in the Finals vs. Cleveland 2 years ago, however, Draymond Green was suspended for the first of those 3 losses, which was big.....
I may take GS small tonight...This should be a blowout...

Boston did not play very well last time out as they shot just 36.5% from the field and yet they still won by double-digits...LeBron looked tired....He denied it in the press conference after the game, but he was clearly fatigued during that game....If he is still even a little bit fatigued for Game 6, then Boston has a chance to close this game out....In the 17 Celtics playoff games, the home team has gone 16-1 straight up and the only loss was Philly losing to Boston in Game 3 of the conference semis and the Sixers gave that game away at the end....
Also, in the 17 playoff games the Celtics have played in, the team that won covered 16 of those 17 games....The only team that won and did not cover was Milwaukee in Game 4 at home in the first round....The Bucks led by close to 20 in that game, too....Could not hold the lead in the 4Q, fell behind by a point with less than a minute to go and then won by 2....

I try to make it a rule that whenever I switch a pick, I do not bet that game...Well, I was going to pick Boston to at least cover this game and then picked Cleveland to win and cover on my Excel spreadsheet....But after hearing Boston coach Brad Stevens is not announcing his starting lineup until game time, I have changed my mind again and picked Boston....
The Celtics got blown out by Milwaukee after being up 2-0 in Game 3 and then in Game 4, the Celtics were down 16 at the half and were down by as many as 19 before coming back and actually taking the lead in the final minute of the game before losing 104-102.
I think this game will be close....Either Boston gets up early and Cleveland fights back to take the lead an hang on to win, or the Cavs get up double-digits and Boston fights back and ends up just short in the final minute.... But I think Boston covers this one....I just cannot bet it because I have changed my mind twice on this game already....

I fully expect Golden State to have an answer for that Game 2 blowout where they trailed by as many as 29 in the 2H and lost by 22....The points have not mattered in any of the 5 Conference Finals games as whoever has won, has covered, because every win has been a double-digit victory....Expect Stephen Curry to bounce back at Home with a better game and expect the Warriors to re-establish themselves in this bounce-back spot....

It is either take Cleveland or do not play the game tonight...But again, much like Game 3 of the Boston / Philly series, this is an inflated line tonight....Great situational spot for the Cavs and Vegas knows it, so they blow up the line....Now Boston still covered the 9 points easily in Game 3 last series in Philly, winning outright in OT....But the Sixers gave them that win with some bad turnovers late in regulation and in OT....The Bucks beat Boston by 24 points in Milwaukee in this same spot in the first round down 2-0....So, I got to do it....

Again, I want to take Houston tonight in a bounce-back spot where the entire world has written them off already after just one game, but, like Cleveland last night -- I just don't trust the Rockets....I do not trust them to stop Golden State and I do not trust the idea that James Harden can put another 40+....
I do not think Durant will put up another 38, nor Thompson 28 for the Warriors, but Curry can pick up any slack from Game 1.....
I may stay away from this series completely....I do like Cleveland in Game 3 this Saturday though....

Note: I want to take the Cavs in the worst way, but as DeNiro asked in the movie Casino to Sharon Stone's character, "Can I trust you? Can I trust you?".... I do not know if I can trust this Cleveland team after that Game 1 throttling at the hands of the Celtics.... Boston is 8-0 at home this postseason... I think Cleveland will keep this game close and have a shot to win it in the 4th quarter....However, I am kind of leaning towards another Boston win and then Cleveland exacting some payback at the Quickens Loan Arena for Game 3....After all, the Celtics are 1-4 on the Road this postseason and their one win was an OT triumph at Philly in a game that the Sixers handed to them on a silver platter with several bad turnovers late in regulation time and overtime....
So no bet for me, although I will look for a potential 2nd half play....I was proud of myself for laying off Cleveland in Game 1 at the half, -6.5 or -7, depending on what Book you play at and down 26 at the half...The Cavs have been an awful team in that spot all year and I avoided being burned by them again this time....

Monday Western Conference Finals....
Note: Got busy on Sunday and forgot the game started at 3:30 p.m. EST and since the game was late first half when I saw the score and realized it was on, it was too late to make picks as Boston was up 25 which is what they won by.... The first day all season (including preseason) where I missed picking the side and total for a game....

This could be the last game of Round 2...I criticized Philly coach Brett Brown for being out-coached in Games 2 & 3 so I have to give him credit for his lineup change that clearly worked in Game 4, having McConnell in the starting lineup....Of course he has to do it again, so let's see how Boston coach Brad Stevens counters that for Game 5....

Philadelphia 76ers -9, laying $110 to win $100 -- Ruined an easy Houston win last night by taking the Warriors in a 2H play...Oh well...This would have been a game where I laid triple on Philly, except this line is ridiculous....Vegas ain't dumb....They are anticipating heavy smart money on Philly and are trying to get people on Boston....This is not scaring me into taking Boston, but it is scaring me to bet triple, so I will keep this a 1-unit play....Time will tell rather I regret that decision....I am hoping the NBA office wanting this series to go deep will coincide with refs giving the Sixers plenty of favorable calls and non-calls which leads to an easy double-digit win....

Ok, Twitter has not been very good to me once I stopped posting at TheRX NBA forum due to time constraints.....
I was 17-7 last year in the playoffs and am 3-6 this year....Maybe I need to pick more totals this year...
Houston Rockets -4.5 -- laying $110 to win $100 -- Rockets were terrible from 3-point land in Game 2 while the Jazz shot 46.9% from beyond the arc....I do not see the Rockets falling down 2-1 in this series, so they just have to cover a small number and we are golden....
