Thanksgiving Day selection...

NFL: 1-0, +$312
NHL: 0-1, -$50
NBA: 6-6, +$51
ALL: 7-7, +$313

The Twitter jinx continues for as I am 0-3 posting plays there and with the exception of one brief hot streak a couple years ago, Twitter has not been friendly to me...May not post there the rest of this season...

Short on time...Happy Thanksgiving...

Dallas Cowboys Pick, laying $165 to win $150 -- I feel like Vegas is giving me a fee winner here...Dallas at a Pick against the 10-0 Panthers...Public all over Carolina but virtually no line movement...Taking the Cowboys for 1.5 units...

New coach angle in play tonight...

NFL: 1-0, +$312
NHL: 0-1, -$50
NBA: 6-5, +$216
ALL: 7-6, +$478

My 6-1 stretch crashed and burned with that 0-2 last time out...

Houston Rockets -6.5, laying $165 to win $150 --
To the surprise of nobody who follows my blog or has followed me for years, I am taking one of the strongest angles I have seen over the last 3 or 4 seasons in the NBA and NFL, and it is well documented here on my Blog...The trend is roughly 17-2 during this stretch if you include motivational games from the NFL in the mix were players died the week of the game and other examples in the NFL I gave in this post I made on my blog here:

http://sportsgambling777.blogspot.com/2014/02/new-coach-angle-in-play-tonight.html

Now rare to see a team as a Favorite falling into this angle...Usually bad teams fire their coaches midseason and the team is always a DOG who then wins outright in this spot... In fact, 1 of the 2 losses in the last 4 seasons was that game I cited in that link on my blog on 2/10/14 when I mentioned:

"The other Not Cover was also another unique situation where Mike Brown of the Lakers was fired 2 Novembers ago after the Lakers started 1-4, but new Coach Mike D'Antoni was recovering from knee surgery and couldn't take the sidelines until 4 games later and the Lakers DID WIN that game for D'Antoni at Home, but they they didn't cover the 6.5 point spread as they won by 5"...

So one of the 2 losses was a team that was at home favored by 6.5 points, like tonight...But that 1-4 Lakers team wasn't very good and this Houston team has a LOT of talent...

I want to bet 3 units on this game, my max play, but I am just slightly afraid of Houston not covering although my gut tells me they will whip Portland by 20+ tonight as HOU has lost 4 games in a row and had a player's only meeting after their last loss and then McHale gets fired the next day...They should be highly motivated tonight, and I always look for these motivational, or situational spots when betting sports...

New Orleans  / Toronto over 205
laying $110 to win $100 -
Fairly strong chart-play to the Toronto Over...

Philadelphia  / Oklahoma City over 206.5laying $110 to win $100 -Double Chart-play to the Over here as both teams going in the Over direction...Durant out doesn't bother me...

Wednesday thoughts...

Running late as I barely got to the betting window in time tonight, but there are 6 plays that stand out tonight, as Chart-plays anyway:

Philly +9.5
LAL +8
Philly Over 196
NY Over 201
Port Over 206
NO +12.5

I won't bet the 3 sides because it's hard for me to take 1-6 and 0-7 teams these days, even though I am a DOG player in the NBA...

I am taking Philly Over and NY over, but am debating whether to take the PORT over...Almost all these plays are Chart plays...

NO also a strong chart play, but again, a 1-6 team with Davis OUT tonight...

Let's see if I regret not betting these 3 sides...

Because I am super-late posting today, none of these will count on my record...

Tuesday NBA total...

NFL: 1-0, +$312
NHL: 0-1, -$50
NBA: 5-3, +$336
ALL: 6-4, +$598

Oklahoma City  / Washington over 217
laying $110 to win $100 -
I have given my reasons for taking Wizards' Overs all season and will keep taking them (depending on their opponent) until Vegas gets these totals close to where they should be...And Vegas is getting close here...Still taking it Over...

Saturday NBA plays...

NFL: 1-0, +$312
NHL: 0-1, -$50
NBA: 4-2, +$345
ALL: 5-3, +$607

Washington / Atlanta over 206.5, laying $110 to win $100 -I have given my reasons for taking Wizards' Overs all season and will keep taking them (depending on their opponent) until vegas gets these totals close to where they should be...And Vegas is getting closer every game, but they are not there yet, IMO...Wizards 2nd in the league in PACE...Atlanta a small chart-play to the Over...

Washington Wizards +5, , laying $99 to win $90 --
Washington Wizards Pick, , laying $10 to win $18 -I like this one, too...Have to take it...The usually strong angle where you take a team playing the team that eliminated them from the playoffs the previous season in the first game they meet in the new season is in play here again...That revenge angle started 0-4 this season until the least likely team covered and covered easily when PORT demolished Memphis 2 days ago, so the angle is a disappointing 1-4 this season...However, the Wizards just got stomped last night at Boston and the Hawks are off a fairly hard-fought win over the Pelicans, so I always like that matchup when 2 good teams are playing each other (team getting points off a blowout loss playing a team favored after a tough road win), so we have multiple strong situational spots working for the Wizards as this may be a good spot for Atlanta's 6-game winning streak to end...

Friday NBA total...

NFL: 1-0, +$312
NHL: 0-1, -$50
NBA: 3-2, +$245
ALL: 4-3, +$507

Washington / Boston over 210
, laying $110 to win $100 -
I laid off the Wizards total vs. SA a couple days back, but I am taking the Over tonight again here...Reasons given in previous posts for why I like the Over...Short on time...

Saturday NBA total...

NFL: 1-0, +$312
NHL: 0-1, -$50
NBA: 2-2, +$145
ALL: 3-3, +$407

NY Knicks / Washington over 204, laying $110 to win $100 -
I like this play a lot, too...Probably should bet this for 1.5 units, too, but will just go with one unit here...Wizards want to run-and-gun as their coach had them going at a fast pace the entire preseason with the exception of their final game, so they are not going to slow down except for maybe if the game gets tight in the 4th quarter the final 5 minutes or so...The Knicks have flown Over in both their games as their bench has been VERY impressive to this point putting points up...This total has already moved to 204.5 in some places and will go up and probably hit 207 by game time, so get it now before it goes up any further...I don't see this being less than 210...I am going to ride Wizards' Overs until Vegas catches up and gets the number where it should be for their games...

NBA total tonight...

NFL: 1-0, +$312
NHL: 0-1, -$50
NBA: 1-2, -$5
ALL: 2-3, +257

Washington / Milwaukee over 198, laying $165 to win $150 -- I love this total...First one posted this season...The Wizards are a run-and-gun team this season, don't let their Opener fool you with the 175 total, there were around 184 shots hoisted up that game if memory serves me correctly...The Bucks allowed 122 to the Knicks in their Opener, so I am expecting this game to hit 210, at minimum, unless both teams cannot hit water throwing up shots from a boat...Betting 1.5 units, which is fairly rare for me this early in the season... The number is climbing quickly, too, may hit 200 by game time...

GL...

P.S.: I need to start posting NHL plays as I have been scorching hot there but only posted one play, a hard-luck loser with Columbus, although I did take them their next 2 games and they won both and I may keep taking them until they lose, depending on their opponent...

Wednesday play -- New coach angle (technically)...

Not the start to the season I envisioned for myself when I clapped my eyes on those 2 plays I posted and I even lost a total, so I personally went 0-3 and did not play any 2H plays for some dumb reason and I would have done well with those had I just bet them...2H plays have more or less become a specialty of mine the last few years due to time constraints...

So I may pull back a little for a few weeks and just do 2H plays and mix in some occasional game plays, we shall see...I like 2 totals, but won't post them as official plays here...I may just take it easy for a spell after tonight until I get settled into this season...

NFL 1-0, +$312
NHL 0-1, -$50
NBA 0-2, -$220
ALL 1-3, +42

Minnesota Timberwolves +3, laying $165 to win $150 and
Minnesota Timberwolves Pick (+130), laying $50 to win $65 -- This could be considered a new coach angle (technically), as generally this angle applies ONLY to a mid-season coaching change, but in this instance, we have the head coach of the team dying 3 days before the season opener... The players on this team, especially the veterans, loved Flip Saunders...Sam Mitchell has been named as the interim head coach, but no matter who they picked, this T-Wolves' team will come out tonight and play their asses off and dedicate this game to Saunders... So no matter what you call this angle, it is certainly a strong motivational angle, strong enough to have me put 2 units on it...Rubio is questionable for Minny, but Andre Miller can step in and hopefully eat up 24 to 30 of those minutes at PG if Rubio doesn't play...

Additional Tuesday play...

Adding:

Chicago Bulls -4.5, laying $110 to win $100 -- I don't like losing out on value as this line opened at 1.5, but I will still play the angle, and NO, Kevin Love is NOT out as I saw on one website, as this is a play for me regardless...Cavs eliminated the Bulls from the playoffs last year and they meet on opening night, so obviously their first meeting this year, so I will take the revenge spot with the Bulls...A lot of injuries on both sides, which is a wash to me, as I expect the Cavs to start slow again until they get everyone healthy and their rotations are going to be a bit messed up early as Thompson didn't re-sign till late in the preseason and then Love not playing till late in the preseason...

New Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg seems to have this team ready to go as he has copied what Steve Kerr did last year when Kerr moved Andre Iguodala to the bench as a 6th man...Hoiberg is moving Joakim Noah to the bench as a 6th man and Noah has accepted that role from the get-go so I believe the Bulls will get off to a faster start than the Cavs here in the 2015-16 season...

GL...

NBA Opening night...

NFL 1-0, +$312
NHL 0-1, -$50
NBA 0-0, $0

New Orleans Pelicans +10, laying $110 to win $100 -- Pretty much my annual fade the defending champ on Opening night play here...Ring ceremony at Oracle Arena tonight...But another strong angle here as we have a playoff revenge factor in play where we have a team (Pelicans) who were eliminated from the playoffs last season by the Warriors playing the Warriors for the first time the following season...Fairly strong angle over the years...And the Pelicans were swept in that playoff series, despite covering the spread the first 3 of those games... GS  has the fire-power to destroy any team on any given night, but this Pelicans' team can play, and Anthony Davis has become a beast and if you look at his 4 playoff games vs. GS last April, you will see games of 35, 26, 29 & 36 points scored, not to mention 30 & 26 in the 2 regular season games Davis played vs GS...

GL...

P.S: I am adding another play due to the same playoff revenge angle being in play at Chicago...

New coach angle for NHL tonight...

1-0, +$312

Columbus Blue Jackets +172, laying $50 to win $86 -- I will be honest and admit I have no idea what the success rate is for the new coach's angle for the NHL...I honestly have no idea and didn't have the time to research it today...But I am willing to take a chance as John Tortorella has won a Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2004... Only betting half a unit and heck, getting +172, it's worth a shot to me...Columbus is winless on the season, 0-7...The players will be giving max effort for the new coach and I am willing to part with half a unit for the potential payout I can get with the +172...

GL...

P.S.: I have started to handicap the NHL again this week and may do so the rest of the season if time permits and may post plays if I am doing well...I am thinking about taking Rangers tonight -1.5 goals at +138 as this is a chart-play to fade Arizona as their Goaltender Mike Smith has gone into the tank the last 3 games, with a terrible Save %, so I am liking the Rangers on the puck line...

Also, I just cannot take the Seahawks tonight laying 6.5 on the Road even though I feel strongly they win this game with their season on the line...But I cannot give 6.5 in a Division game on the Road...

NFL play for Sunday...no-brainer...

We have the new-coach angle going this Sunday...

0-0

Miami Dolphins +2 (-110), laying $165 to win $150
Miami Dolphins Pick (+108), laying $150 to win $162 --  I should have grabbed this when it opened at 2.5 and even 3 in some spots as I had this game circled since they made the coaching change 9 days ago...If I was a tout, charging for picks, I would say this is my NFL Game of the Century...

Practically a Perfect Storm of factors coming together here...

Everyone knows about the New-Coach angle in the NFL & NBA, as I have talked about it for years, including on this blog and on many online forums, and the Miami Dolphins will be playing their first game for their new coach Dan Campbell, who replaced Joe Philbin early last week after the Dolphins fell to 1-3 with their 3rd straight loss, a 27-14 loss to the Jets two Sundays ago...

The ESPN talking heads were saying during NFL Live as they reviewed film of the 41-14 loss to the Bills in Week 3, saying the film clearly shows a lack of effort from the players, insinuating they have tuned out their head coach...He was fired a week later after losing to the Jets...These same ESPN talking heads also said that Coach Campbell will command their respect...

Miami is coming off a bye week...2 weeks to prepare under Coach Campbell...

They are playing the Tennessee Titans and are a Dog, although they may not be a Dog by game time...

I don't bet too many NFL games straight up as I like teasers, but I could not ask for a better spot here...

The Dolphins are hungry, trying to end a 3-game losing streak and they have a chance to jump-start their season and try to salvage it now as they basically get to hit the reset button with a new coach, so they will be playing their asses off against another 1-3 team with a Rookie QB...

A rare 3-unit play for me...

If you read through my blog and check out my posts on the new coach angle, you will see just how impressive this angle has been over recent years...

I have to grab it now as Miami will probably be a Favorite by game time, as this line is moving...

Atlanta's only chance to get back into this series tonight...

0-0 -- Wanted to at least publish one play this 2014-15 season before it ends...I like this one a lot, to be frank...

Atlanta Hawks -3, laying $220 to win $200 -- This is it for the Hawks...If they have any shot to win this series, they MUST win tonight...I doubt if DeMarre Carroll plays tonight despite the game-time decision status, but the bigger news to me is that Kyrie Irving not playing for the Cavs...Look at the boxscore for Game 1: It was all LeBron and J.R. Smith offensively, although Tristan Thompson was efficient...Smith was 10-for-16 from the field, including 8-for-12 from 3-point land...That isn't happening again...And despite Smith going off, Lebron scoring 31 and Carroll having a subpar game before getting hurt, the Hawks cut a big deficit down to 4 with 1:02 left in the game...The Hawks lost Game 1 to Washington last series by 6, then spanked the Wiz in Game 2 by 16 at Home...If Smith doesn't score 28 again tonight for the Cavs, who else is going to pick up the slack, especially with Irving and his 10 points and 6 assists from Game 1 now gone?...Atlanta should win this by at least 8 and this really should be a double-digit win with the potential to be a blowout...
